Partner Teacher Resources

Who Are We

We continue our commitment to our partners and aim to work together to meet the needs of our students through flexibility, creativity and innovation.

The Pathways Partner Teacher Resource page lists the above expectations, links to forms, and additional information about our program. Pathways Tutors are carefully vetted through an application, interview, background check, and livescan. Tutors complete learning modules and a collaborative tutor training to prepare for their role as a tutor in your classroom. Many of our tutors are currently enrolled in a service-learning course and have projects to support their growth. In addition, tutors attend professional development workshops led by our Pathways Team.

Tutor start dates will be contingent upon the completion of their onboarding, which may cause delays.

What We Do

Pathways works with SDSU undergraduate and graduate students to provide in-class and after-school support in STEAM education in 15 partner schools across San Diego County.

  • Be punctual and follow their approved schedule.
    • Tutors are required to notify teachers and email the Pathways Office before tardiness
      or absence
    • Tutors can request time off for upcoming exams, study sessions, projects, etc.
    • Schedule changes must be approved in writing by the Pathways Admin Staff
  • Tutors are role models to students
  • Tutors actively engage in appropriate conversations with students using academic
    language

  • Tutors are not to be left alone with the students
  • Tutors are not to make copies or sit in the back to grade papers.
  • Tutors set learning goals, self-evaluate, and meet with the Tutor Coach.
