Upward Bound Saturday Sessions
Once a month, Upward Bound students get to participate in an enriching Saturday Session designed to spark curiosity, engage students in the local community, and further their knowledge and experience with different career paths. Immersive activities and hands-on experiences allow students to gain valuable insights into an array of industries and professions while also connecting them with other UB students from other partner schools.
Career Exploration
Saturday Sessions often focus on career exploration in a wide array of professions. Students dive deep into various industries and roles through interactive workshops, expert-led presentations, and immersive simulations. These experiences give students experience in real-world scenarios, enabling them to gain invaluable insights into different career options and the skills required to excel in each field.
College Visits & Field Excursions
One of the primary ways to explore what college life will be like is by visiting a college campus. When students immerse themselves in the atmosphere of different educational institutions, it can be eaiser to envision a future academic journey and gain clarity on the path that resonates with their goals and aspirations. These visits provide a unique opportunity to step foot on college campuses, interact with faculty and students, and get a taste of campus life.
Community Building & Networking
We believe in the power of community and the strength that emerges when students unite. By bringing together a vibrant network of peers from all nine UB partner schools, we foster an environment where collaboration thrives. Students get the chance to connect, exchange ideas, and learn from individuals who share a common goal of seeing them succeed.
