The Institute for Transformative Education (formerly Pre-College Institute) celebrates 40 years of transformative education.

For 40 years, we have been dedicated to illuminating educational pathways for K-12 and undergraduate students, empowering the San Diego community along the way. In December of 2023, we welcomed our esteemed alumni, former staff, ITE partners, and the SDSU academic community to celeberate 40 years of transformative education at our Walk of Fame Anniversary Celebration. During the event we highlighted the accomplishments of ITE's last 40 years and announced transformations on the horizon for the institute.

The San Diego State University Institute for Transformative Eductaion (ITE) is a transformative education organization. Founded in 1983, by our Executive Director Dr. Cynthia Park, ITE provides an invaluable service to our communities’ multicultural low-income, underrepresented, and underserved students. We aim to provide access to educational and life resources to support students from elementary to college and career. ITE has implemented a variety of ongoing programs and initiatives to achieve this transformative mission.
