Community Resources
Resource available for all San Diego Communities.
- The San Diego LGBT Community Center enhances and sustains the health & well-being of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, transgender, nonbinary, immigrant, and HIV communities to the betterment of our entire San Diego region. They offer support for sexual health and wellness, behavioral health services, housing services and food resources.
- Dreams for Change was founded with the mission of supporting families and individuals are that are experiencing houselessness. The organization provides Workforce training opportunities to people who have experience employment barriers. Dreams For Change Safe Parking program is designed to help who shelter in their vehicles with access to safe parking.
- San Diego Youth Services helps San Diego’s most vulnerable youth, including foster children, youth experiencing homelessness, family conflict and violence, abuse and neglect, mental health struggles and substance use.
- San Diego Hunger Coalition allows you to search for available food programs in San Diego, like CalFresh, Meals for Older Adults, WIC (Women, Infants and Children), etc. Find out if you are eligible and how you can apply.
- Olivewood Gardens hosts a produce stand every Thursday at 10 AM and runs high school and college internship programs.
- You Saved Me assists San Diego County community members by providing immediate resources ranging from no-cost healthy food to digital career training opportunities.
Resource available for South Bay communities.
- Free food distribution for families is available montly at Castle Park Middle, Montgomery Middle, Chula Vista Middle, and National City Middle to individuals 16+ years old who are in need of food. Distribution is while supplies last.
Resource available for SDSU students only.
- The SDSU Basic Needs Center connects students to resources that assist them through situations related to food insecurities, housing stability, health, child care, trasnportation or unforeseen financial crises that impact student success.

- Catholic Charities Diocese of San Diego supports individuals by providing low-cost, high quality immigration servics and provide resources to safe shelters for people expeirncing homelessness.
- NAMI San Diego hosts clubhouses, spaces open to San Diego County individuals experiencing homelessness and/or mental health assistance, and non-crisis phone service.
- Jewish Family Services provides mental health counseling and a safe parking lot program for homeless familes living in a car.

- CASA Familiar provides affordable housing programs, social services ranging from passport applications to immigration benefit applications, and youth programs.

Whether you need in-person or virtual support, Rula helps match you with professionals based on your needs, insurance, and preferences making mental health care more accessible.

- Just in Time for Foster Youth is an adult foster care service non-profit organization that provides graduating seniors with a variety services to students who are currently or former foster youth. Offers sub-programs like housing, finanical literacy, housing and education services.
- Voices for Children is a foster care/social service that supports active foster youth of all ages. This program provides mentors/advocates for youth in need of support.

- The Community Law Project provides pro bono legal services, including legal advice, consultations, and referral services to low-income people in the greater San Diego area.
- The Legal Aid Society of San Diego provides free legal services to low-income individuals and families, helping them access justice in areas like housing, healthcare, public benefits, and more. LASSD empowers clients to navigate legal challenges and secure their rights.
- San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program provides free civil legal services to vulnerable and underserved populations, including survivors of domestic violence, people experiencing homelessness, and children in need. SDVLP connects volunteer attorneys with clients to promote access to justice

- The Undocumented Resource Center (URC) at San Diego State University was created in 2020 through the efforts of Education Without Borders (EWB), students, staff, faculty, and alumni. The URC aims to offer a safe space where undocumented students (including mixed-status families), faculty, staff, and allies can build community.

- The SDSU Center for the Advancement of Students in Academia (CASA) supports 19 inclusive programs across the Colleges of Sciences and Engineering. Open to all students, these programs offer academic and professional development at every level, fostering community, collaboration, and access to opportunity in STEM.

- Somali Family Service, guided by its community champions, empowers immigrants, refugees, and other underserved communities in San Diego through its programs that promote health, educational and economic success, and leadership development.
